Interview-Oral History Project

On February 27, 2013, I drove Milford to Shreveport to the R. W. Norton Foundation for an interview as part of their Oral History Project.  Mr. Phil Lynch conducted the interview which was recorded for their archives.  Phil did an excellent job of immediately getting Milford at ease, and then drawing out special stories of his life and experiences in World War II.  Milford spoke so well as he shared his stories.  It is Milford's wish that the interview be shared with all who are interested.

In the weeks following the interview, Phil did some minor editing and created recordings of the interview.  He then transcribed the interview and provided both a CD and a printed book of over 50 pages from the interview.

Following Milford's wishes (and with permission from Mr. Phil Lynch for the R. W. Norton Foundation), the transcript of the interview is available for you to either view online or download:
  • Part A - represents 1 hour and 13 minutes - 23mb
  • Part B - represents 1 hour and 17 minutes - 23.1mb
